We arrived to the Great Hill at around 12:30pm. By 2pm we finished delineating the three zones with wire and stakes, putting up the sings and sorting the props. Ayelet briefed us over lunch and and at 3pm we where ready to rock. Rita and Yulia registered people as they arrived to the Great Hill and gave each one a sticker with his/her name and team color. Each team was assigned a different zone. One member from each team was selected as team leader and drew five cards from sacks. Two "constraints" cards and three props cards. * Check the description for each of the games to learn about the constraints and props used by each team.
The zone managers (Ilia, Derek and Yael) guided the teams through the game development process. Teams where encouraged to make use of their zone's shape (circle, triangle or square). Matt and Ilan moved between different zones to provide additional tips and tricks while Ayelet tried to make sense of the chaos. By 4:40pm we had 6 new games ready to be played by the 6 teams of 6 people each (lucky number 6).
Play time began at 4:50pm. Each zone manager hosted two teams, briefing then on the rules of the, soon to be played, game and then refereed the match for 10 minutes. Next, each team moved to the following zone, got briefed on a different game and and played for another 10 minutes. This cycle continued until each team played each game once. At 6:50pm, Ayelet declared the tournament as complete and we all gathered under a tree to announce the winners and thank everyone for participating. Each team graded the intensity of fun the had in a scale of
We invited everyone to join us for dinner and drinks at the Upper West. A great ending for an amazing day! |
